About the Album
“Social Justice – A Fire for Reimagining the World” is the first track of the third disc of Wadada Leo Smith’s three-CD box set “Sacred Ceremonies,” out May 21, 2021 via TUM Records. “Sacred Ceremonies” represents a meeting of three giants of contemporary creative music: trumpeter Smith, bassist Bill Laswell, and drummer/percussionist Milford Graves. All three play on this track. This boxed set comprises a duo CD featuring Smith and Graves, a duo CD featuring Smith and Laswell, and a trio CD featuring Smith, Laswell, and Graves.
