About the Album

"Stone" is the third single taken from "Requiem For the Faithful", the highly-anticipated third release from London-based post-jazz/Art Pop quartet ISQ. An electronica infused ballad, it blends modern sounds with a vintage soul where the piano/synth, double bass and drums all intertwine with the vocals to create a slice of perfect nu jazz. After two critically-acclaimed brave and original albums, ISQ released their third album “Requiem For the Faithful” in September 2019. Their recent singles from the new album show a consolidation and maturing of their own inimitable style - the use of space and dynamics along with Serra’s evocative lyrics that weave stories of a rare intensity. Each song creates a visual storyline - a movie-ette in the listeners head, that connect to an audience well beyond just the jazz one. “...ISQ are a melting pot of genres – jazz, pop, acoustic and experimental – which all blend together to an entrancing effect...” - Time Out London Critics Choice

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
