About the Album

Ally Fiola is a saxophonist and film composer who has an affinity for soul, driving rhythms, and strong melodies. She's been inspired by artists such as Cannonball Adderley, Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, and Preservation Hall. These influences can be heard in this debut album that features five original compositions which has a hardbop and New Orleans brass band fusion. This album also includes two pivotal standards (Mercy Mercy Mercy and Moanin') which helped shape Ally into the musician she is today.
