Fiona's Comments

Broody moods. Big tune for a mouse, stops and starts in a similarly furtive fashion; memorable mute trumpet.

About the Album

SBG is an instrumental six-piece focused on creating 21st century music honestly and organically, blurring the lines between indie rock, avant-garde jazz, and electronic music. When experienced live, it is continously flowing, unpredictable, and full of surprising juxtaposition: an ethereal ballad could launch into a raw, free improvisation, and somehow end up as a cover of a classic hip hop beat. Bringing this vision to life are some of Montreal’s finest young musicians: Scott Bevins: trumpet; Kyle Hutchins: drums; Eric Haynes: piano; Evan MacDonald, guitar; Dominic Sbrega bass; Evan Shay: tenor saxophone.

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
