About the Album

"Find Your Pose" is the sixth track on saxophonist/composer Kevin Sun's aptly titled album "Trio," his debut recording as a leader. The album features Sun on tenor as well as clarinet and the rarely-seen C-melody saxophone with bassist Walter Stinson and drummer Matt Honor in a set of Sun's era-spanning compositions that are as propulsive and swinging as they are intricate and challenging. "Trio" follows equally adventurous releases by Sun with two collective quartets, Great on Paper and Earprint. Here, though, the vision is entirely Sun's, though his complex writing leaves Stinson and Honor ample opportunity to show off their estimable skills.
