About the Album
This bluesy ballad was written when I became a parent over 20 years ago. It covers some of the epiphanies I had then--how fragile we all are, how we all really are made up of the same stuff, how we start out as a blank page and who's to say what gets written on that page. The song won two Honorable Mentions in Unisong's International Song- writing contest in 2006, out of over 4,000 entries, in the Jazz and Overall Performance categories. It was recorded live for broadcast by WUFT-FM, our NPR affiliate, and features Ed Krout on piano, Scott Walton on bass, and the late great Roland Burns on tenor sax.
