Whoa, okay, this is a little different. Beautiful voice, moody strings, and a composition that keys in to introspective moments. This should have strong crossover appeal to indie fans of Hope Sandoval as well as fans of the avant-garde stylings of Jessica Lurie. A track that definitely makes me want to search out more. Jazz from the Bern Switzerland scene.
About the Album
In a subdued recital of originals and standards, Lola Regenthal's rich voice combines with the Swiss duo of guitarist Francis Colleta and Jonas Tauber on bass and cello for a compelling and auspicious debut. Lola presents six of her compositions that speak from the open spaces of southern Sweden, of love, creativity, and art.
