Love, permanent at every turn. Hiding in Plain Sight.
Rhythm of the Sound Current is the 8th album of original material that we've recorded and released in the last two years. In spring of 11' we set out to make 6 albums in twelve months. We ended up recording 10 and the music has begun to find an audience. It's been pretty exciting. Rhythm..is a live performance of a new suite of music recorded at Brooklyn's IBeam. It features four guitar and piano duos with Brian Charette and three quartet performances adding Jeremy Noller on drums and John Tate on Bass.
Recorded/engineered by Dave Parnell, Mix/mastered by Andy Gabrys. Produced by Maxey, Parnell and Gabrys. All songs by Josh Maxey.

I love jazz because it's sophisticated, international, atmospheric yet free, cool and warm.
I was first exposed to jazz through the sultry voice and flawless swing of my mother.
I met Mark Murphy, David Linx, Kurt Elling, and Youn Sun Nah.
The best show I ever attended was Youn Sun Nah in Paris.
The first jazz record I bought was Native Dancer by Wayne Shorter and Milton Nascimento
My advice to new listeners: open your mind and your ears, forget about structure, feel the textures.
Go see live music and keep buying CDs!
