Fiona's Comments

Melodic, meaty and marvellous. A sound that belies his years, Ben has an intelligent, 'rock-smoked' jazz album, v. cool.

About the Album

Rue St Dennis is the second track from our EP which contains five new compositions that fuse melodic songwriting with contemporary jazz and improvisation. "Ben’s own compositions encompass his experiences and reactions to people, places and situations, both near and far. Whether writing about the burning funeral pyres in Nepal or a celebration of his grandfather’s life his compositions hope to offer an honest and open reflection of his experiences to the listener. The songs present themselves with a relaxed delivery that belies the sometimes complex nature of the music." It features: Ben McDonnell - Guitar Ben Bastin - Bass Chris Packham - Drums
