Fiona's Comments

A haunting tune from one of the top albums of 2012. A startling amount of emotion emanates from this quiet production. Themes of loss, and based on writings of literary figures, Siskind's trio offers a terrifically evocative recording. Highly recommended.

About the Album

With a lyric based on the eponymous Elizabeth Bishop poem and a restrained lament bass that flourishes into a progression of Chopinesque beauty, "One Art" steadily builds into a heartbreaking statement about love and loss. Personnel: Jeremy Siskind (piano), Lucas Pino (woodwinds), and Nancy Harms (vocals).
