Fiona's Comments

Neat track. A composition that builds up momentum starting from a tight center then expands out concentrically for an increasingly textured sound. Jazz from the Vancouver scene.

About the Album

"1983" is a composition by bassist Josh Cole and features an extended tenor sax solo by Evan Arntzen that moves from lyrical to outside. It's the organic interaction however that makes it a typical October Trio performance. Tony Malaby is one of the inspirations here. Personnel: Evan Arntzen (tenor & soprano sax, clarinet), Dan Gaucher (drums), and Josh Cole (bass).
