Fiona's Comments

Some breathtaking melodies on this recording, and it left me scrambling to reconfigure my Best of 2010 lists. BBB is a must-buy. Fans of Guillermo Klein should fall all over this album. An absolutely welcome addition to the jazz landscape. Outstanding.

About the Album

From his debut album, Ospina crafts elements of his native Colombian music into a fresh, new sound by artfully blending them with traditional jazz elements. His compositions make use of creatively orchestrated melodies and exploratory improvisations to tastefully alternate between beautiful sections of tranquility to more brooding and darker episodes.
