Moody jazz to fill those quiet introspective nights when all you want to do is lean back with a drink and enjoy the view from the window. Tiner's trumpet shifts easily between bold pronouncements and soothing words of comfort, and Baggetta's approach adopts a Frisell-like inquisitiveness from one note to the next.
Bridges is the new album from trumpeter Kris Tiner and guitarist Mike Baggetta issued on the MabnotesMusic label. Featuring 8 new compositions and funded in part from a grant through the American Composers Forum.

I love jazz because it mixes intellect and emotion in a very spontaneous way.
I was first exposed to jazz by liberating a Coltrane and a Pharoah Sanders record from a friend in NYC and listening to them over and over until I got it.
My advice to new listeners is you have to take the time to listen to some jazz tunes a number of times until it starts to make sense.
