About the Album

"For the Road," from Australia-based pianist Mark Isaacs' latest release with his Resurgence Band, Aurora (Gracemusic, 2011). Featuring the same band as on the previous release, the live Tell It Like It Is (ABC Jazz, 2009)--guitarist James Muller, saxophonist Matt Keegan, bassist Brett Hirst and drummer Tim Firth--Aurora ramps up chemistry and collective energy with some of Isaacs' most appealing writing to date. The release also includes a bonus DVD, with the entire Tell It Like It Is album, effectively reissuing it as a concert video, complete with song introductions as a bonus feature.
