Ally Fiola is a saxophonist who has an affinity for soul, driving rhythms, and strong melodies. She's been inspired by artists such as Cannonball Adderley, Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, and Preservation Hall. These influences can be heard in her debut album, "Dreaming Away", which original compositions and arrangements which has a hardbop and New Orleans style fusion. This particular tune, "Thirteen", is Ally's autobiography. It's an eclectic composition that has a 7/8 over 4/4 feel with a bit of funk thrown into the mix.
