About the Album
From Patrick Zimmerli's jazz suite Clockworks, an abstract-funky jazz tune, with an off-kilter groove and a catchy melody. It's a nod to soul-jazz of the 1960s, interrupted by irreverent bursts of post-Schoenbergian pointillism. The track features witty soloistic stylings from Bad Plus pianist Ethan Iverson and hip rhythmic inventions from Maria Schneider vet John Hollenbeck.
