Need a smile? Da di dum to this wee beauty. Takes a team of special sauce jazz virtuosi to update classical standards. Nice touch.

About the Album

Pianist/composer and Grammy-winning arranger Bill Cunliffe's take on the beloved Bach cantata "Sleepers Wake" is the first track from Cunliffe's newest record, "BACHanalia." In BACHanalia, Cunliffe boldly crosses the streams, mashing together classical repertoire and big band jazz with swinging abandon and irreverent glee. The recording features pianist Cunliffe, vocalist Denise Donatelli, trumpeter Terell Stafford, saxophonist Bob Sheppard, drummer Joe La Barbera, and many others.
