About the Album

"The Astronomer" is the 3rd chart of "The Mystic," a 7-movement suite for large ensemble with live electronics. The entire project arises from the tradition and heritage of alchemists, sages and mystics who have helped mankind's progress, in both spirituality and science. The piece is scored for live electronics, flute, oboe, soprano saxophone, Bb clarinet/bass clarinet, English horn, flugelhorn, French horn, bass trombone, piano/electric keyboard, electric bass and drums. Track features Kamau Kenyatta and David Castañeda.
