About the Album

“Give Us a Drink of Water” is the 4th track from saxophonist-composer Ochion Jewell’s second release, “Volk.” Ochion Jewell creates a border-blurring masterwork “Volk.” Born in the aftermath of a violent incident of police brutality, the album is a celebration of divergent jazz and folk music from around the globe, melded together in the unique voice of one of jazz’s most promising and inventive young artists. Featuring an the diverse band with pianist Amino Belyamani, bassist Sam Minale, drummer Qasim Naqvl, and guitarist Lionel Loueke.
