About the Album

Another Point Of View defines, already with its title, the musical direction that the quintet wants to propose: Jazz which is solidly rooted in tradition but which is enriched by a European and Mediterranean experience. In these last few years of concerts, studying, rehearsals, chats, listening and influences of different types of music, the sound of the quintet - which yet still remains quite similar to the sound matured in See the Sky - has progressively evolved through other communication paths, those of the sounds currently produced in the world, while still keeping a foothold in the great tradition of Afro-American music. Since always, Beppe Di Benedetto has been interested in the descriptive music of Vivaldi, Beethoven and in Mahler’s and R. Strauss’s program music. As with the great compositions of the past, in this album the songs conceptually describe thoughts, programs, intentions, objects, situations, moments, states of mind.
