Ah, those little girls can't beat some irony-free conviction... Erudite vocal display of re-servitude/reserve'itude.
"Wives and Lovers," from bassist and vocalist Katie Thiroux's debut CD "Introducing Katie Thiroux," is an extraordinary solo bass-and-vocals performance of the Bacharach and David ode to the responsibilities of marital eroticism, offered here with irony-free conviction. While this track trains the spotlight on Thiroux’s outsized talents, the album features guitarist Graham Dechter, tenor saxophonist Roger Neumann and drummer Matt Witek interpreting a mix of standards and Thiroux's compositions.
There's A Small Hotel; Don't Be On The Outside; A Beautiful Friendship; Wives And Lovers; I'm Old Fashioned; Ray's Kicks; The One I Love (Belongs To Somebody Else); Rosebird; Can't We Just Pretend; Shin Stockings; Oh What A Beautiful Morning.
