About the Album

Jacaranda is Trevor Rabin's new solo project. Trevor explains this track in his notes: "The Branch Office was a club in Johannesburg where a mentor of mine played often, Hennie Becker. He was a musician and keyboard player the likes of which I haven't heard since. I became friendly with John Fourie, a guitarist, who I first heard play as part of the band with Hennie, and would often go to his apartment to jam. Really he was jamming, I was learning. He died recently and sadly, not enough people heard him. He was admired tremendously. Drummer Tony Moore and bass player Johnnie Bossoff were the other players who made up the band. Both were incredible. I was lucky enough to play with the band quite often. I asked my son Ryan to play drums on this track. His band Grouplove, were kind enough to lend him to me. I knew technically how good Ryan was, but the way he so naturally played 7/8, blew me away. Guitars were my Stratocaster, the Alvarez signature and Alembic bass."
