About the Album

Nils Berg has started a new band! Some of the members are: a hibernated hippie on the sitar, giggling teenagers from Brunei, a balafon master from Ghana, a shy Japanese lady and her flute, and an Indian dance group with rock hard feet. When the band performs, sax player Nils Berg is accompanied by drummer Christopher Cantillo and bassist Josef Kallerdahl on stage. Alongside the band is a film screen showing the far-away-guests, who are seen, heard and incorporated into the live music. A new quartet for each song. Orissa (In the Hands of the Lord) features Nils Berg on tenor sax, Josef Kallerdahl on double bass, Christopher Cantillo on drums, and an Indian dance company with their musicians on harmonium, flute, vocals, meridingam and violin. The percussive hand clap sounds comes from the four dancers, clapping the soles of their feet against the concrete floor.
