About the Album

It Doesnt End Here is a lilting melodic samba in six-eight time that serves as the title track to Marc McDonalds new release. After 25 years as a sideman playing everything from punk to cabaret, It Doesnt End Here marks the alto saxophonist and composers CD debut as a leader and is comprised of Marcs first love, namely mainstream jazz with bop, Brazilian, and New Orleans influences. The album highlights both his robust alto playing and talents as a composer, with eight original compositions and three inventively re-imagined standards. Regardless of style or source, however, the music is distinguished by an approachability that doesnt sacrifice depth.

Joining Marc on alto sax are Jim Ridl (piano), Steve Cardenas (guitar), Karl Spicer (bass), and Gene Lewin (drums).
