Dynamic, soulful jazz vocalist June Garber presents her stunning new album, This I Know. It’s a collection of songs carefully curated by Garber that weave a tapestry of her life’s experiences so far. It is an album about savouring every second of life, as evidenced by the cover songs “Live for Life” and “I’m Gonna Live Till I Die.” Garber acknowledges and pays homage to her deep South African roots in “Underneath the Jacaranda Tree,” an original piece co-written with Rosanne Baker Thornley and North Easton and "Meadowlands", a protest song from the apartheid era. Finally, Garber bares her soul on "Unbroken", expressing the immense grief she experienced losing her husband, but also the hope and strength gained from moving forward. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and living in Toronto since arriving in Canada in 1975, the talented, sultry actress/vocalist has a world of experience behind her and a varied performance career that spans the globe. As an actor, June performed in theatres across Canada, and her stagecraft is still evident in her singing performances today. June has toured and performed as a singer in major centres in Canada, the USA and also in Cuba, the Caribbean, Mexico, South Africa and Australia. She has performed at jazz festivals throughout North America.
