Traces of Cities (Self Produced) by Manuel Linhares

Editor's Comments

Every city has a scent. A tender, Buble-esque vocal with a sumptuous sax solo that draws from a similar well to Starless and Bible Black* - some distant must-go-to-place never visited. #thankfulfortheoldandthenew *http://youtu.be/Frnd-wuhBic

About the track

This is an album about cities, their spaces and forms, about what stays in the silence of the memory and only music can remember. Traces are songs, outlines, impressions, fragile melodies, a voice that is suddenly suspended among the unceasing rhythms of these cities. In this work Manuel Linhares has gathered a superb band of Portuguese and Spanish musicians. With Paulo Barros (piano), José Carlos Barbosa (bass), Filipe Monteiro (drums), Rui Teixeira (bass clarinete / alto saxophone) and the special guest Xosé Miguelez (tenor saxophone).
