"Chimeras" by Gustavo Cortiñas

Fiona's Comments

Chimeras doesn't sound half as ugly as it might look. For those bedhead mornings when you feel like a bag of spanners in a world of cotton wool. Uplifting.

About the Album

A composition inspired by the greek mythological creature the Chimera: “Who breathed raging fire, a creature fearful, great, swift-footed and strong, who had three heads, one of a grim-eyed lion; in her hinderpart, a dragon; and in her middle, a goat, breathing forth a fearful blast of blazing fire.” (Homer, the Iliad.) This piece is playful and organically composed, put together in a somewhat similar way to the Chimera; a monster of a tune.

The track features: Roy McGrath: tenor sax; Justin Copeland: trumpet; Mike Allemana: guitar; Kitt Lyles: bass; Gustavo Cortiñas: drums.
