Editor's Comments

Piano trio keeps a steady gait, even when playing with some restraint. Result is a deceptive speed, one that makes it easy to kick back and enjoy the beauty of the tune even as the foot taps out a rapid patter.

About the track

Generations is a trio comprised of musicians spanning a 30-year age difference. Their musical connection, transcending age and experience, is readily apparent as the trio applies their spin to jazz standards, such as Blues Connotation and I Hear a Rhapsody, and modern originals. Veteran drummer Rich Thompson teams with pianist Chris Ziemba, winner of the 2011 Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition, and bassist Miles Brown to contribute a dynamic and swinging new recording to the great piano trio lexicon.
