Songs From The Breastbone Drum
Absolutely love when a song possesses the complexities to challenge me cerebrally while simultaneously grabbing my heart with a pretty melody. Lots going on here, yet a simplicity to be admired. Acoustic guitar provides the dynamics while the dreamy sway of a recorder goes along for the ride, later interwoven with some startling percussive layering of sound. Jazz from Singapore.
Dedicated to classical composer Lou Harrison and also to the indigenous 'two spirit' shamans of yore.comments powered by Disqus
