About the Album
This song was written when I became a parent 20-some years ago. It covers some of the epiphanies I had at that point--how fragile we all are, how we all really are made up of the same stuff, how we start out as a blank page and who's to say what gets written on that page. The song won two Honorable Mentions in Unisong's International Songwriting contest in 2006, in the Jazz and Overall Performance categories. It was recorded live for broadcast by WUFT-FM, our NPR affiliate, and features Ed Krout on piano, Scott Walton on bass, and the late great Roland Burns on tenor sax. Re-mastered by Rob Rothschild.
