THE GREASY BEATS are an all-star funky music machine that hails from Los Angeles and features some of the most respected and in-demand musicians in Southern California. Every individual in this funky gang of musicians has made their mark on the music scene. Members of the Greasy Beats have performed or recorded with such notable bands/artists as: Black Eyed Peas, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Sergio Mendez, Big Daddy Kane, Too $hort, De La Soul, Cake, Sublime, Money Mark, Mos Def, Cut Chemist, Rakim, Ghostface Killah, Redman, Jason Mraz, Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake, Ricky Martin, Ricky Lee Jones, Mike Doughty, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Robert Walter's 20th Congress, The Breakestra, Quantic Soul Orchestra, Melvin Sparks, Eddie Bo, Sam Rivers, Inara George, DJ Logic, Jem, Marc Broussard, The Southland, Pseudopod, Jive and Connie Price & The Keystones just to name a few. The Greasy Beats have forged a rough and raw approach to the FUNK that is reminiscent of The JB's, Bootsy's Rubber Band, The Meters, P-Funk and the Godfather of Soul himself, James Brown. The GB's have firmly established their reputation as the heaviest funk & soul band in SoCal with extended residences at both the world famous Roxy Theatre in Hollywood and the Temple Bar in Santa Monica. "FOR THE GREASY BEATS, WHEN IT COMES TO GETTIN' DOWN, JAMES BROWN IS THE GROUND!" The Greasy Beats are: JOEL BOWERS- tenor sax, bandleader; MIXMASTER WOLF- vocals, emcee; DAN BOISSY - alto sax; SHAUNTE PALMER - trombone; DANNY CHAIMSON - keys, vocals; ROSS GRANT - guitar; SERGIO RIOS - guitar; ETHAN PHILLIPS - bass; PETE McNEAL - drums; CHUCK PRADA - percussion.
